We had the opportunity to lead a workshop on “Accepting the Other” at a conference that brought together around 250 people from Jewish, Muslim, and Christian backgrounds. The goal of the conference was to promote understanding and care among these diverse communities. The theme of the conference was “Dare to care for a better future,” and we were grateful for the opportunity to engage with people from different faith traditions and share our Christian faith with them.
During the workshop, we explored how our personal worldview can shape our perceptions of the “other”, and we used the parable of the Good Samaritan to illustrate this point. It was a meaningful and enlightening experience for attendees of various backgrounds, many of whom were hearing these teachings for the first time. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. We appreciate the opportunity to contribute to this important conversation.
