Conversation with PhD Peace Studies Alumni – “Personal Reflections on the Ministry of a Peacemaker: Being a Change Agent,”

I had the privilege of speaking to a group of alumni from the PhD Peace Studies program at AGST (Asia Graduate School of Theology) —remarkable leaders working in challenging contexts across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. In 2019, I had the unique opportunity to teach them courses on Reconciliation Theology and Research Methods at IGSL in Manila.
The theme I was asked to share on, “Personal Reflections on the Ministry of a Peacemaker: Being a Change Agent,” gave me the chance to share stories from our ministry and journey, while also hearing about their own experiences. It was a powerful reminder that peacebuilding is not just a calling but a sacred journey—a gift entrusted to us and a responsibility we carry with humility.
