I had the joy of teaching an intensive course on reconciliation theology at the Jerusalem School of Theology, located inside the Abbey of the Dormition, near Zion Gate. The students were mainly from Germany, with a few from Ukraine, Italy, and Austria representing both Catholic and Protestant traditions. Our conversations were rich and sometimes challenging, but always deeply rewarding. Seeing the passion and dedication of these future priests, pastors, and educators reminded me how important it is to equip the next generation of leaders with the tools for peacebuilding and reconciliation, especially in our deeply divided world. Their eagerness to learn was evident not just in the classroom but also in their final exams. I pray that as they go out into the world, they carry with them the mission of Jesus—one of love, healing, liberation, and service.
